2018 Summer Reading Program
The Orange County Library is proud to present the 2018 Summer Reading Program “Every Hero Has a Story!” June 11-August 3, 2018. Kids ages 18 months to rising 12th graders can join the program starting June 11, 2018.
Signing up is easy! Visit your local library branch, complete the registration form, and pick up your first weekly activity log & bookmark. During the week, track the minutes you read & activities you do on your activity log. Return to the library each week for a new activity log and to turn in your finished one for a prize of your choice and a chance to win one of the deluxe prize baskets to be awarded at the end of the program.
Fun activities are also a big part of the Summer Reading Program. For the preschool aged crowd, there will be a weekly Toddler Time for children 18 months-2 years and Preschool Storytime for children ages 3-5. Returning this summer is the weekly MovieCraft program featuring recently released movies and a fun themed craft offered on alternating weeks for kids. Teens will have a variety of craft programs available, including ceramics and art.
Fun for the whole family can be found at professional performances that are sponsored by the Library and presented locally at Locust Grove Middle School, Orange Elementary, and at Gordon-Barbour Elementary School. Performers for this year include Jonathan Austin Magic, Reptiles Alive, Science Tellers, Wildlife Ambassadors, and musicians Shelly & Rainbow.
